5 Tips to Body Contouring

We all know that contouring the face can be done, heck there are 2 million videos on YouTube showing us just how to do it! In fact we can take a round face and create a perfect chiseled greek goddess look just by applying a few strokes of our magical contouring makeup. But what about the body? I want my body to be chiseled as well?

Guess what? That chiseled look can be done to any part of the body with the right application using shadows and light. This means you too can get that sculpted beach ready body. The only catch! Be prepared to spend some extra time in front of the mirror today! Or better yet find a makeup artist who has a couple free hours on her hands and needs some contouring practice. But seriously if you want to enhance some of your favorite features here are my top 5 tips to add a little sexy to your body.

1. Remember it’s all about shadow and light and a great deal of blending! Stand in front of the mirror and look where the light hits the body, this is where the highlighter goes, then imagine where the shadows would be to make the highlighted area pop! This is where your contouring or darker color would go.
2. Don’t be to drastic with your light and dark sculpting colors, you want your contouring to appear natural, with no harsh lines when you’re finished.
3. Less is more and in this case don’t go overboard with your products. Keep it simple!
4. Check your work outside in the sunshine. The best place to check your finished application is to go out in the sun and have a look.
5. Finally, always set your work with a translucent setting powder to keep it in place all day. I prefer Laura Mercier its lightweight and lasts all day.
