Amanda Smearman
Amanda Smearman has joined the School of Makeup Artistry as their newest hands-on makeup artistry instructor teaching Pro Makeup Artistry. Amanda will be teaching in the territory encompassing Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Based out of Cumberland Maryland, Amanda brings a wealth of knowledge in the beauty industry. for 15 years as a Licensed Cosmetologist in Maryland. For most of her career, she focused on hair, but in 2014 she made the leap into makeup and found a passion that she didn’t know existed before then. Always eager to learn, she took her first makeup course in 2015. In 2016, she became a Master Makeup Artist through Women in Gear: School of Makeup Artistry online Master Makeup Artistry course. Later that year, along with a friend and business partner, she opened her own salon, Shine Studio, where she now works as a Hairstylist and Makeup Artist. As a wife, Mom, and business owner, Amanda strives for perfection and to constantly grow and learn.
In 2018 Amanda took another leap of faith on herself and decided to pursue teaching makeup to those aspiring to become Pro Makeup Artists. She worked closely with the founder of The School of Makeup Artistry and together they mapped out her plan to join the team. She hosted her first Pro Makeup Artistry class in Cumberland Maryland in March of 2018 and had such a great response to the class that she knew this was another endeavor she would be thrilled to pursue. She is excited to pass along what she has learned on to those just beginning or expanding their makeup career.
